Title: Phoenix, AZ IBC! Feb 17-18, 2024
Post by: Mrs. Smith on November 02, 2023, 08:58:03 PM
Appleseed Family,

I'd like to invite you all to a Traditional Rifle IBC to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility. It is FREE to the Appleseed volunteer cadre, of course, and is designed to enable all of us to help work Appleseed events with even greater simplicity and precision.  Those who have not worked an event for a while may find it a fine refresher. For those who are seasoned instructors, it may be useful to review a bit.

While this event is scheduled for Arizona, border raiders are encouraged to join us!   For you travelers, Sunday will start a little earlier so it can end earlier, and get you folks back on the road home at a good time.

Who can come?  It's for Instructors-in-Training, Instructors, Applecore, Shoot Bosses, and even crusty old Senior Instructors!  If you are not yet a volunteer but have attended a 25m event and shot a Rifleman score, come on out.  :)

Stuff you need to know:

1.  The purpose of the IBC is to help our instructors grow and become better teachers, away from the pressure of being in front of students.  If you are an instructor, instructor in training, or interested in being a Project Appleseed Instructor - Sign up! (https://appleseedinfo.org/location/?locationid=1009&eventid=9758)

2.  The IBC is free to attend.  No cost. Sign up! (https://appleseedinfo.org/location/?locationid=1009&eventid=9758)

3.  Lodging.  There are a couple of hotels relatively close by; see the event information page.  An option for groups might be an airbnb.

4.  Don't let the name "Boot Camp" intimidate you.  This is a gentleman's course.  No push-ups, no hazing, no yelling.   Most of our IBC exercises will be in small groups.

5.  Attendance at this event will qualify you for your BOOT CAMP rocker.  Sign up! (https://appleseedinfo.org/location/?locationid=1009&eventid=9758)

6.  If you've not attended an IBC in the last 12 months, please sign up as a student.  Sign up! (https://appleseedinfo.org/location/?locationid=1009&eventid=9758)

7.  An IBC will jump start your teaching skills and may qualify you for accelerated promotions!

Please pass this along to anyone you think may be interested.  The IBC is the method we use to ensure everyone is on the same page when we teach using the Appleseed way: SIMPLICITY and PRECISION.  Please join us and invite others. You are part of an elite group - the BEST rifle instructors in the country.  Come help us all improve as we spread the message of Liberty.

This is going to be a great event! Hope to see all of you there... so Sign up! (https://appleseedinfo.org/location/?locationid=1009&eventid=9758)  ^:)^

In Liberty,
Mrs. Smith

(Yes, I shamelessly stole the format from Google, who in turn stole it from some other dude, but it's hard to improve on this.  ;D)

Searching on the web shows a handful of reasonably priced hotels within 12 miles of the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.  Some offer breakfast and free additional beds in their rooms.  As we all know, carpooling and sharing rooms is a time-honored Appleseed tradition.   Sharing expenses makes a road trip much more affordable, and more fun, too!

Hello, I just signed up for the IBC. I'm probably "jumping the gun", but is there a webpage or will an email come out on how to prepare and what to bring?  I was a blue hat for a few Appleseeds and an IIT for my two latest Appleseeds.  If my wife doesn't go, I'll be open to ride-sharing, although I'll be coming from San Diego, CA.  I'm also open to sharing a room, but I snore.  Very Loudly.  Can't wait!

Hi Victory19!  Welcome aboard!

"Jumping the gun..."  I see what you did there   O0

As we get closer to the date you'll be sent lots of information.  About 4 weeks out or so.  In meantime, definitely review the Academy videos on Points of Instruction!

I don't know if any of your fellow SoCal folks are close enough to drive with you, or if it would be practical for you to drive north and meet up with someone, then come in from there.  I'm only generally familiar with southern California.  However, one of the things we'll do as we get closer is connect travelers with each other so they can potentially share rooms.  So far you're the only one traveling in.  It's our hope that will change!

We're looking forward to meeting you,

Best,
Traci
