Good afternoon. Is there a product that can help me get a better cheek weld on the 10/22 stock? The OEM stock cheek weld is too low for me and I have to hover above a bit to get a good sight picture.
One of the instructors at an event installed a hasty solution for me with foam insulation and blood-donation tape wrapped around it. It's good, but the foam is squishy and I don't feel I have a consistent cheek weld because of it.
I tried the Magpul X22 stock and the height is good, but it's too far back away from the tech sights.
Thank you in advance for your help.
I've seen several people with an adjustable cheek riser similar to this (no experience with this particular seller): https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Cheek-Rest-Riser-125/dp/B09FSLSYDS (https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Cheek-Rest-Riser-125/dp/B09FSLSYDS)
Alternatively, if you're okay with spending some money on a new stock, check out the Boyd's AT-One stock. I don't know that it will be better for you, but it's an alternative with an easily adjusted cheek riser.
Victor titan also makes a cheek riser that can be used on a number of different stocks.

I have one similar to the one on this post on all my loaner rifles. It is simple cheap and it works. Kids from 9 to 79 have used my loaners and they have been able to get a cheek weld.
Only down side is you do have to drill holes in the stock. So it's a get it in the right place and then it's permanent.

I also have something similar to that linked above on many of my rifles. Mine are all made of kydex and parts from the hardware store. An industrious Instructor (not me) put them together for cheap. It works great.
Alternatively, on one of my rifles I built up the stock with foam and vet-wrap just like we do at events. But, then I also put one of those cheap spandex ammunition carriers over it to hold it all in place and look a little better.
Beartooth Comb Raising Kit 2.0
$25 on Amazon. No permanent changes to your stock, 5 different height choices, from 1/8" to 1.5". My 10/22 and CZ are both fine with iron sights, no where close once I put a scope on. Put the Beartooth kit on both and they're perfect.

Try two pieces of double sided tape (or double sided foam tape). One down each side of the stock.
semi-perminate?

I have two of these on some loaner rifles that seem to work very well.
I have bought about a dozen of various types from here: https://accu-riser.com/
I keep several to use at shoots and many are on my rifles.

There are a lot of good options. I can say that I've put the Battle Saddle from GI Holsters on several of our personal rifles and have been very happy. It's one of the options listed in the forum link above, but the direct link is:

I use Magpul Stocks on all my rifles and shotguns, not only for the modular cheek risers but also for the adjustable length of pull. They are an awesome deal and will also provide attachment points for QD mounts, bipods, etc.
For my Victor Titan Stock, I use the hard cheek riser, and did that for a while however, for long days it's very uncomfortable. So I did some experimenting with a combination of the hard riser and foam padding. I ended up finding a piece of hard foam at work, thin but denser than a pool noodle or pipe wrap that we typically use for getting shooters' alignment right. It's stiff enough that there is very little give, but comfortable.
I use the sticky athletic wrap to hold it into place. I do this for a few reasons, 1) It's cheap 2) I can adjust how tight I wrap the foam so that it either removes more of the bounce from the foam and gives a little more , and 3) it's sticky and prevents my cheek from sliding once I find my position.
I have used the Victor cheek riser on other 22 rifles. They come with 3 different spacers to allow for you to adjust the height to fit you. Quality produce and they are easy to install too.

I used this:

As a more durable/permanent solution for my athletic tape/pipe insulation temporary cheek riser. I comes with more rigid foam inserts, but I found the pipe insulation worked sufficiently well, but this neoprene wrap kept it from moving about.
Hijacking this thread a little... what do folks use to extend short rifle stocks?
I use the same pipe insulation foam we use to build up the cheek weld. Roughly twelve inch pieces of vet tape wrapped over the foam that is held over the butt plate, you will need an assistant. Then wrap tape over the butt stock to secure the ends of the vet tape holding the foam piece on the butt plate. It works!

If you don't need a whole lot, maybe try a stock recoil pad. Lots out there with different thicknesses. Some slip on like a sock, some lace on, some screw in.
