Friends,
Repeating the fun time we had last year, I'm happy to announce the 2023 RWVA Range Annual Instructor KD and Get Together!
Based on feedback from last year, this year's event will be a 2 day event, December 9-10 (please note that the date for this event is incorrect in TIPS - PLEASE IGNORE THAT DATE.)
This will be an event open to all hat colors (i.e. Blue, Orange, and those other colors too). Spouses and family members are more than welcome to attend as well.
If you wish to attend, please sign up using the link below:

If you wish to stay on the property - via tent camping, RV, or in one of the cabins - send me a note so we can account for that.
Hope to see you all there!
Sadly, the wrong date in TIPS screwed me up - I cleared that weekend and set my gun clubs Christmas party for the 9th. :wb:
Wish I could make it, but I'm the cook for the club.
Stay Vigilant,
Bob S.
Signed up. Look forward to another Rifleman's congress. I plan to camp in my truck on the range.
Signed up. I'll work up Saturday dinner. And will camp at the range.
I will be there with my monster camper. I have two spare queen beds in the back of the camper. They are available if you don't mind the lab pup that sleeps back there.

Excited about spending time with you all. Devlin will be bringing his Savage 110 in 6.5 creedmore. And I will be trying my best with my Mini14. I am already learning from online advice and forum research. I've installed a stabilizer on the barrel, reduced the gas bushing (.45 was too small, so trying .50 this weekend), and reduced the trigger to about 4.5 pounds (pics attached).
Devlin (Liberty Boy) had to modify his stock to fit a 10 round mag. The mag he bought will only hold 9 rounds. So he has a 4 round and a 9 round mag. So he will need to bring an extra round when stages require a 10 round mag.
Taking both out this Sunday to sight in at 25 and verify to 200 yards. Unfortunately, we need to clear a couple tree lines to get out to 400 yards so we'll save that fun for when we're down at Ramseur.
Pat or anyone else in MD want to ride down with me and Devlin, let me know. We are planning to start driving early Friday. And will need to leave soon as we wrap up Sunday because I gotta get up early for work Monday.

I appreciate the offer! I'll be driving down Friday afternoon after work and am looking forward to letting the EV stretch its wheels for it's first road trip.
I'll be bringing my 16" AR-15 with an Athlon Argos BTR GEN2 6-24X50 FFP mounted on top, thanks to the purchase program. I had originally planned on going with a Primary Arms sLX 1-6 FFP LPVO, but after trying it out, I just couldn't get comfortable with it. Currently awaiting a shipment of 68 grain 223, I'm curious how its accuracy will compare to the 55 grain I have on hand.
I don't shoot my AR nearly as much as I would like in this economy, so I've set up my Tippmann as similar as possible and will be spending some quality time with it tomorrow on some AQTs. I hope to take the AR out to the eastern shore to see how it performs at 300+ next Friday. I might bring a Garand as well if I can get it sighted in.
Looking forward to it!
Cleared a 400 yard line through our fields a couple weekends ago. By the time we finished, the sun was set. So we returned today to sight in and figure out our dope. A very productive day and lots of fun. Devlin's Savage 110 performed good. And I was happy to get most rounds on paper with my Mini14 when the wind picked up.

We also got to sight in our Japanese Arisaka Type 99. Got excited when the first shot was on paper and it only needed a small tap on the front sight to get it zeroed.

Will bring it down to Ramseur for show and tell. Until then, getting excited about our shoot.
Just wanted to take a second before I crawl in bed to thank everyone for such a great weekend of camaraderie and marksmanship, I had a blast, pun intended
I look forward to another year of Appleseed working together with all of you towards a brighter future
It was great to meet everyone at the shoot, Next year we will have pop-up targets to shoot at.

YES! It was a wonderful weekend, and I'm guessing there isn't anywhere else we can experience such excellent camaraderie, meaningful discussions and marksmanship opportunities as what we shared this weekend. I hope everyone got home safely. Thanks to you ALL!

P.S. where might someone come across a recipe for such wonderful Gumbo?

Sent in PM. Glad you enjoyed! I enjoyed cooking it and very much enjoyed the company and the practice time. Many MANY thanks to Monkey for organizing the KD!
Even after breaking down on the way there, it was great time. So glad we had the chance to bond and grow at the same time.
In case you didn't hear, we made it back home safely at about 1:00 am this morning with the trailer. This was an adventure me and Liberty Boy will never forget. That includes the relationships we continue to forge.
Thanks again to Darrell for rescuing us off the side of the highway to Russ for towing us out!
