It was a beautiful weekend at the Flagler Gun & Archery Club in Bunnell, Florida. There were 11 pre-registrations and 10 showed up on Saturday. The Saturday no-show attended on Sunday replacing one no-show.
There were several familiar faces and 6 first-timers. Using the newly revised 25M Rifle Standard Course of Fire, we were able to complete the initial AQT on Saturday. No Riflemen were revealed but several were nearing 200.
7 year old Calvin impressed everyone with his energy and enthusiasm. Starting with a single shot bolt action he mastered the basics and by Saturday afternoon was using a borrowed Tippman M4-22 with great proficiency.
Our oldest shooter (73) had some mobility issues and was not able to shoot prone or seated. Rambo Granny stepped in and Adapted things so he could shoot from a folding chair in the open legged seated position. By Sunday afternoon he was a newly minted Rifleman. Congratulations Tim!. Huzzah for Rambo Granny.
First timer Ana outshot her husband Isaac, a prior attendee on Saturday and most of Sunday, but in the end Isaac also became a newly minted Rifleman with exactly 210. Ana got in the spirit and used her ice cooler for the water of the old North Bridge to baptize him.
Kevin re-qualified multiple times and almost shot Distinguished. Well Done.
First timer Ben also qualified with his bolt action rifle. Huzzah.
Pictures of the proceedings will follow in another post.

Thank you all for being great instructors, historians, story tellers and patriots!
Hi Glenn,
I was going to PM but maybe my account is too new. Anyway.
I attended my first Appleseed recently in Jacksonville with my son, and earned my Rifleman patch. It was an incredible honor.

Attending an Appleseed has been a goal of mine for many years and the stars aligned for me with this particular event. I just wanted to reach out because back before I deleted my Facebook account, your daughter (I graduated high school with her, she was one of the best people I knew) had posted that she attended one, I don't know, 10+ years ago; that one little interaction ignited some little spark that has held over the years.
As a dad myself, I admire what a great job you did raising her, and as a patriot I was impressed to see you involved with this organization. I was wondering if I'd see you at this shoot and you are literally the first thing that would come to mind when I think "Appleseed".
It has always stuck with me and I just wanted to say thanks for that, and all you do. I know what it means to volunteer your time. I hope all of you are doing well and please tell her I said hello.
My path was my path and made me who I am, but having somebody like you as a dad would have been pretty cool.
