Title: Bothell WA, Rimfire KD, Sept 23/24, AAR
Post by: Prescott on September 29, 2023, 12:50:11 PM
The first day of fall rolled into the NW along with rain and mild temperatures.   However, the students showed up with positive attitudes and the goal to earn their Rimfire KD patches.   Three shooters were unable to attend, as they got sick a couple days prior to the event and stayed away from the range.

The shooters all grasped the classroom fundamentals that were taught at this event and put the knowledge to work.  The first target shot on Saturday was the 125 yard Morgan's shingle.  Dan and Jake were able to join the ranks of Morgan's rifleman.  The remainder of Saturday was used to develop the come up from 50 - 200 yards.  Once everyone had their dope a couple of AQTs were shot.   Eric, Charles, Jake, Dan and Nick were able to earn their KD Rifleman patches.

Sunday morning was started with another attempt at shooting Morgan's shingle.   Every shooter was successful at hitting the shingle.  This was a first time event for me to have the whole group join Morgan's Rifleman.   The Pacific NW is in good hands with this group of shooters.   The rest of Sunday was spent shooting Rimfire KD AQT mixed in with some fun events.  One fun event had the shooters aiming at 2MOA targets and Eric was able to hit every target.   By the end of the day, Wes had also earned his KD rifleman patch and Eric had earned his Distinguished patch with 49/50 hits.

The only student that did not shoot the Rimfire KD rifleman patch needs to continue to perfect her steady hold factors and NPOA.  These skills can be mastered through dry fire practice at home.   This shooter was knocking on the door, and will easily shoot her score at her next event with a little persistence.

I am looking forward to seeing this group at a centerfire KD event next year.   We will be having at least one at the Upper Nisqually Sportsman Club in Eatonville along with a couple in Idaho.
