Title: Tippman Sight Adjustments
Post by: Cincinnatus- on August 09, 2023, 11:08:49 AM
I just picked up a new Tippman Appleseed rifle to use as a loaner. I purchased the Elite model which is only a $50 upgrade as recommended on the forum.
Any ideas if these are 1/4 minute, 1/2 minute, 1 minute sights?
The longer sight radius will make a difference and I'll go to the range to get an idea this weekend but thought someone might have a decent "guesstimate".
Thanks in advance for the help!

I would guess 1 MOA but I tested them out once and there were no repeatable click values I could discern. Some online say differently. I ended up scoping my Tippmann loaners and moving the flip-ups to another rifle with a red dot - zero the dot (which dies have values) and then adjust the sights to that zero. Or set it and forget it. They aren't terrible but they aren't Tech Sights either.

I had a terrible time with the stock Tippmann sights on the elite I bought and eventually removed them and scoped the rifle, as Catch-10-22 did.  I did for a while put some other AR style sights on the rifle...Troy, if I recall correctly.  The sights were the one disappointment I had with the rifle, they were terrible...could not adjust them in windage with any consistency and could not adjust elevation at all.  With a scope on it the Tippmann is a fantastic loaner.

Thanks for the help!
Range report shows its mostly 1 MOA at 100 yards. I wish my eyes were better and wish the clicks were more positive on the sight but the accuracy is amazing and the controls are just like an AR.

Hey, just a word if you're using the Tippman. During a two day Appleseed my front handguard worked itself loose. My shooting was bad enough, but I didn't realize it was loose and the front sight was thus not lined up.

I got a bridge mount (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M3880A4) and connected the upper and the handguard with it. Now things are rock solid.
