Title: Gillette WY July 8-9, 2023 AAR
Post by: BEEMER on July 10, 2023, 01:23:12 AM
Weather in Wyoming is unpredictable.  Saturday We had a lovely day in the mid 70's  with thunder & showers all around and breezy, but were fortunate that very few of the raindrops fell on us.  ,Sunday was sunny and warm in the low 80's.
We had Kalob,  a returning shooter Who Recertified on both days. Way to Go! We are hoping you will take an Orange hat. Let us know if you want to pursue this?    Your son Gavin , A real pleasure to work with, and see him progress, To the Marksman category I think as he gets bigger, it will get easier.  Gavin, It was fun to see you persevere and still be enthusiastic to continue even at the end of the day on Sunday when All the adults were burned out!  I look forward to seeing you at future shoots.  Rebecca and Levi , First time Appleseed shooters, Accepting instruction and pointers with great attitudes and a smile. Love it. Rebecca,  Winning her first Rifleman Badge on her Her First AQT with a 222! Awesome!  Learning all the stuff we throw at you can be challenging, And you both had great attitudes. Hope you'll tell and bring your friends to the next one. Ryan and Bryan Showed up on day 2. Both accepted Orange Hats  before Covid and we haven't seen them for 2 years. Glad you are back even with the loud guns on the line.  Bryan did a great job of putting an AK 47 thru its' paces and proved that you can score rifleman with a Russain pattern battle rifle, (notorious for poor accuracy)  with a terrific high score of 223! Impressive   A feat I may try to emulate.  Ryan , knocking at the door, Sure enjoyed having your suppressed rifle on the line. Marksmanship is a perishable skill.  We gotta get out more!
A big shout out and thank to the Gillette Gun Club for allowing us To have a shoot at your lovely facility. Hopefully we can do it again Next year.
Thanks to All the Johns ( we had 3!) and Mark who instructed and helped out with the shoot.  Your guys are the backbone and reason we can do these shoots with such fine instruction at these types of facilities. Thanks for being there.
Cheers
Beemer

Was really good to see my Wyoming Patriots again, and enjoy the country and it's great people.  Congratulations to those who shot the Rifleman scores and I'm sure everyone enjoyed the weekend and learned of the start of the Revolutionary War in the early days of our great country.  Hopefully everyone will count their blessings everyday and appreciate the fact that they are AMERICANS and citizens of the greatest country in the world.  I feel I must correct the Shoot Boss, however.  There were four Johns present for the weekend.  The very essential one was located about twenty yards from the firing line and used quite frequently!  Thanks to everyone for a very good weekend and encourage your friends to attend the nearest shoot!
