Title: Stupid Question about a Rem 40x
Post by: medved on July 09, 2023, 05:08:59 PM
So, I finally accomplished my life's goal. I got a Remington 40x. Turns out all I had to do is wait a decade until no one wants them and their price declines to something within my habitable zone.

Only thing is I have no idea what to do with it. It weighs, feeling like, 50 pounds. It has a huge walnut stock, a barrel 30 inches long ending at a full 1". And it is single shot.

I am attempting to do standing shots, and after my third, I feel perfectly conditioned for a 10/22

Something tells me that I'm not supposed to use it standing. Or, do I really need to use that 15 pound Freeland shoulder hook it with?

Need a pointer here!

What kind of 40X is it? They made .22lr all the way up to 300WM. It it has a 30" barrel it's probably a long range 1K yard target rifle for shooting prone.
