Let me start with thanks to Beaver Valley Rifle & Pistol Club for graciously hosting Project Appleseed for 14 years. They once again donated their Training Range (aka Bay 4) for the weekend for an Appleseed Pistol Clinic. The weather was gorgeous on Saturday, as western PA got a little relief from the monsoon season. The students took advantage of the balmy weather and showed great improvement as the day progressed.
Sunday weather was not so accommodating, with overcast all day and showers through the middle of the day. Still the students continued to improve, with some moving on from their .22s to 9MMs. When the smoke (and the clouds!) had cleared at the end of the day, Eric had fired several Pistoleerâ„¢-quality PQTs, with a high of 228 and two cleared Hits Count! targets. He also had the best time for the weekend on the Big Dot, Little Dot Drill. Ev was not far behind, with a high of 220 on the PQT, a cleared Redcoat, and only 1.26 seconds slower on the Drill.
Thanks to Yates for taking on all of the History for the weekend in his engaging and professional style. The students were especially interested in the Sam & Sam story, since Yates can tell it with examples of all the hardware!
Yates has cool toys! Sounds like a great shoot.
