Title: Sheridan WY AAR May 6-7, 2023
Post by: BEEMER on May 08, 2023, 12:46:39 AM
We Would like to Thank the Sheridan County Sportsmans Association for hosting Appleseed shoots for the past several years and continuing to improve the range with new Bays to shoot in, and continuing  to support our mission.
The Wyoming springtime weather was welcome after lots of snow and winter hanging on.  We had high 50's and low 60's with clouds and wind mixed in with spots of sun, on Saturday.
We had 4 shooters on the line with one newbie.  Melody did a fine job of maintaining a learning attitude and we saw significant improvement. Challenges with ammunition malfunctions provide better familiarity with your firearm.  Persistence will pay off!  Keep up the good work. We hope to see you at our August Shoot.
Keen continued to show improvement and achieved  some excellent groups finding his NPOA using Iron sights ,while fighting the tail end of a cold.
Vance did a fine job while also fighting a cold, confirming he is a Rifleman, Twice! with a high of 226,  Huzzah!
Mark Davis came for the day to shoot and continues to show Rifleman skills we all might want to emulate while shooting a straight pull rifle !  Red coat scores at the end of the day suffered with friendly rivalry and Challenges to do it while standing!
Sunday started out cool, sunny and breezy with thunder heads threatening in the distance . Keen (feeling better) and Melody showed up, ready for more challenges and a great attitude. Vance stayed home sick... you know he was sick to not come shoot with us! Hope to see you feeling better in August at the next shoot.
Got some excellent drills in,  Redcoats ,practiced some ball & dummy, & NPOA, Green Zombies , transitions and AQT's Before The storm rolled in with thunder, lightning and rain shortly after lunch.  We called it early under concerns about the lightning.
I want to thank Olfartoo and Swede Shooter for helping out so well.  Swede Shooter did an energetic  job of Telling the First strike for the first time. Way to work it!  Olfartoo, thanks for making the trek from Gillette!
Sure enjoyed working with all of you and hope to see you at the Next Appleseed.
