Title: AAR - Pikes Peak Gun Club, Apr 22/23 2023
Post by: codefogey on April 25, 2023, 10:36:36 PM

The day dawned cold and snowy in Colorado Springs. Temperature was 20 degrees and there was an inch of snow on the ground.
By midday Saturday, the snow had disappeared (it is the desert) and by the end of Saturday, the temperature had reached freezing.

The weather on Sunday was almost ideal, with low wind, mostly sunny, and temperatures in the high 40s.

Four intrepid students came to the event on Saturday and five on Sunday:

There was action on the line:

Flux brought a camp stove and made hot dogs for our Sunday lunch on the range:

Much gratitude to Pikes Peak Gun Club for their hospitality, particularly for granting us use of the clubhouse meeting room on Saturday morning, saving us from an additional 90 minutes of polar exposure in Bay #7. They are yuge supporters of our program, as demonstrated by the fact that we've got 4 more shoots scheduled @ PPGC in 2023.

Kudos to our shooters, exhibiting resolve under less than optimal conditions on Saturday. This was a safe, conscientious group, with all showing continuous improvement over the course of the weekend, resulting in two new Riflemen and two more knocking on the door.

Next on the schedule, a 25m shoot at Ben Lomond Gun Glub, located in Ramah, CO (the center of the universe) on May 6th & 7th.  :snipersmi
