What a fabulous Patriots' Day Weekend at River Falls Sportsmens Club!
Saturday's weather was definatly Winterseed qualified and I will get Winterseed patches to you Cody and Ava. Despite challenging conditions everyone persisted and we produced two Riflemen that day...Cody requalified with a 231 and 13-year old Ava at her first Appleseed on the second AQT scored a 236! Congratulations Ava and her Dad IIT wbrenner!
But wait...it gets better. On Sunday we had not one, not two but THREE Distinguished Riflemen! Chris was the first scoring 246 with his AR. Then came young Ava again, scoring 241. Cody rounded out our talented group with 240. Congratulations all! I WILL find and get those rockers to you.
Congratulations Chase who requalified at 218 on Sunday!
Our remaining students displayed teachable attitudes and steady progress all weekend with several scoring in the 180s, 190s and low 200s. Persist Shaun, Alex, Keegan, Carson, Jordan, Kelby, Bob and Wood! That Rifleman patch will be yours.
I want to give a special shout out to Carter who was on the line all weekend, overcame some frustrations he was having Sunday afternoon and finished the day with a fine showing on the final Redcoat. Keep making the effort Carter...nothing that's worthwhile is ever easy.
Several of our students cleared the Redcoats over the course of the weekend. Ava was at the head of the class clearing all four! And on Sunday morning the Ladies showed the Guys how its done by being the only ones to clear that target. Congratulations Keegan and Ava.
It gave me great pleasure to present Appleseed's appreciation certificate to River Falls Sportsmens Club and their representative Belinda, a great Appleseed supporter herself.
A giant personal thank you goes out to my fellow Instructors 22Salty and wbrenner. You guys made this event the success that it was.
I hope to see each and every one of you on the Appleseed Trail again soon.
We managed to get a few pictures between the snowflakes and they follow.

Great job by all!!! River falls rocks!!!
Thank you to the instructors for a great weekend!
Thank you to all who attended this weekend! From my perspective as a Very junior Appleseed volunteer it was great to see a group of friends, a group of co-workers, and a family participating.
As a Dad, I really appreciate all the enthusiasm and support you people gave to my Daughter Ava. I bet she had no idea when we arrived on Saturday morning that she would be nearly instant buddies with and Kelby and Keegan. 😠Intuitively, I know that this weekend left an impression on her that she will remember. Think about that. You all helped create that memory by being there and being part of something bigger than yourselves. I enjoy few things more in life than seeing my Daughter smile. I saw her smiling all weekend.
Keep in mind though, it wasn't all smiles practicing for this weekend. There was reluctance to practice at times. There were times when we would rather stay inside instead of practicing in the cold. My point is, I'm so happy Ava is a Rifleman. Ava is happy to be a Rifleman. For her I think it is a reward worthy of the effort.
