Hello All,
I am looking to build a youth rifle with a bit of an old school twist. I'd like to use a longer barrel for the benefit of putting the crack further away from young ears in the event that the hearing protection isn't on exactly as it should be and the like. I am also planning to suppress this rifle. I haven't had great luck finding just the stock for the CZ Scout in the wild. Anybody know where I could get one? Thanks in advance.
I have a 455 youth stock (I replaced my scout stock with a full length) that I could part with. Is it compatible with the 457?
Thank you for your kind reply. It would appear according to a thread on rimfure central that the stocks are incompatible due to the change in position of the action screws. The receiver is actually longer on the 455 and somewhat more pleasing aesthetically. The search goes on...
Well I'm committed to the 457 now and it looks like the best option is to buy a Boyd's stock and cut it to the needed youth stock length.
So obviously the iron sights are well sorted for this rifle, but what about a scope?
I have a crazy desire to put an Area 419 conversion base on it and scope the rifle with some good optics as it will last him quite a while.
Eventually I want to put a suppressor on it as well although it would appear that this rifle is nearly hearing safe as it is with standard velocity. Looks like there are a few that fit and still allow the open sights to be used. Now to fuñd the most effective one... suggestions welcome.
So I was able to find a used youth stock for the 457! Also have a chamber flag, single shot adapter, and ten round magazine. Very excited about this.
Awesome, I actually had bought a scout for my first appleseed, extended the stock to almost adult size.
Since it is a boltie, quiet versions of ammo could be a consideration.
