The local Chattanooga Crew wanted to shoot a Memorial Volley on April 19th this year. Most of us have day jobs, so the plan was hatched to have a short evening event for instructors, their families and local rifleman.
We started the evening with special-K telling the story of Samuel Whittimore, then Mermaid handled the safety brief. After rifles were brought to the line, Corgi Mom and Cleveland ran the Memorial Volley. Mermaid followed up by telling the story of Betty Zane. The group then shot two AQT's with special_K telling the story of Hezekiah Wyman between AQTs.
After the scoring was completed 9 of 14 shooters were requalified. MaximumEffort shot a 241, his son shot a 236 with irons, and special_K a 220. Mrs. MaximumEffort, Cleveland, Cokeguy, Eddie, Nick, and Josh all easily requalified.
Once rifles were cleared from the line we all enjoyed a taco bar organized by Mermaid and special_K.
Many thanks to Eddie and his family for letting us use their range and kitchen and to all the instructors that helped set up and clean up very efficiently. Also to Cokeguy for driving over from GA to spend the evening with us.
