Title: AAR RED BLUFF PISTOL CLINIC MARCH 18-19
Post by: NorCal22Gal on April 05, 2023, 01:12:28 PM

The saying goes "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes…".  Well, Saturday was a lovely spring day.  Cool, some sun, some clouds and overall very pleasant.  Sunday…well…winter returned on Sunday!!  Cold, rainy and windy.  The person who invented the ezup is a genius!!!
We had 6 students signed up, including 2 who flew in from Utah!! Everyone had been to an Appleseed before, 2 had been to Pistol Clinics before.
We started with the safety briefing, then got right to work teaching the grip and stance and steady hold factors.  We got lots of dry practice before we put any rounds down range.
We broke for lunch and some history.
Back to the line and more teaching and learning.
We did get 1 PQT in.  High score 206…soooo very close.
Sunday only had 3 people returned.  The weather got the rest.   We did some review and some practicing.  We got in 2 PTQ's before lunch.
It was raining, cold and the wind started up…Huck, Dana and Matt were troopers and we went on with some practice and some more PQTs.  The weather was soon just not helping.  When scores start going downhill, it's time to just call it a day.  One student was sitting out and the other two were just cold.  Short day, but I think it was better off to call it and not keep going.  These guys had the skill it was just not going to happen with the cold wind and rain.
Thanks everyone for coming out. Hope to see you out again sometime.
Thank you for helping us clean up, it is much appreciated.
Thank you to my instructors for coming out!
