15 shooters joined us for a Patriots Day 25m event at the Cherokee Rod and Gun Club in Kingsport TN. Most of these shooters had attended the LadySeed last July and this Shoot Boss was told they had been practicing since - it showed! Early groups were looking great and most shooters were zeroed in quickly. The history as told by HazMatt, special K and Tar Heel was well exceptional and well received by the group.
Early on I had the honor to present Bolt_ her Orange Hat! She and her father (Tar Heel) traveled in from NC to help us out and their contributions were very appreciated.

This group was primarily composed of ladies from the local AGAG chapter and we showed them that our young lady IITs are capable and confident as rifle marksmanship instructors. Special_K informs the group on how their targets can talk.

Saturday afternoon proved a little challenging as the winds picked up (about 35mph) and the crew had to tape targets to the backers. The shooters took this is stride and continued O0
Steve got there first by scoring 215 and would later score 225!

Stacy joined in and is obviously thrilled to score a 213! She later asked for and was presented an Orange Hat! Thanks for stepping up and help save the country O0 . We later put her right to work as an RSO ^:)^

Sunday morning was jam packed with student-led review, more history, and a taste of what will be experienced at a Known Distance event (we cannot shoot until noon on Sunday). The review made a difference as Shannon re-qualified with a 216, William (16yo) scored 216, Brenda scored 215, and Kim scored a 210, earning the cool water from the North Bridge.

We broke up the afternoon with Ball & Dummy drills and a solemn Memorial Volley while executing 4 AQTs. The students never slowed down and hung in there for a busy afternoon.
Many thanks to the instructor crew as most traveled quite far to help with this event. Thanks also go to the Cherokee Rod and Gun club. This was our second event there and we are looking forward to (and already planning) more events in the future.
What a great group of shooters on the line at this event. I can't wait until we make the trip back up to Kingsport for the next event. It is great to see the program expanding in East Tennessee.

I'm so excited to see many of the ladies from last July returning and demonstrating that their practice paid off! Congratulations to all!! :partytime:
Well done to all the attendees and to the crew for helping Appleseed grow at this beautiful range. O0
This was a really meaningful Appleseed event for me to see my daughter receive her orange hat and practice instructing and running the line. Working again with Cleveland and Army Vet and meeting other high-quality instructors and IIT's from the TN cadre was an honor. Special K's performance instructing and delivering history was inspiring! With two young dedicated orange hats on the line and a new 16-year-old rifleman, I believe I witnessed the future of the Appleseed program this weekend.
The shooters pushed hard for two days and several earned rifleman's score with good humor and friendly vibes. I am looking forward to my next trip back to Kingsport.

Had lots of fun this weekend. It was a really great group of shooters. I'm really glad I came out to kingsport and got to meet HazMatt, Tar Heel, and Bolt_. Congratulations to Stacey for steeping up and taking an orange hat, as well as all the riflemen-new and requalified.
This looks like an awesome event! So great to see some of the ladies -- and Steven too -- earning their Rifleman patches -- I knew they could do it!!
So proud to see the IITs doing such a great job!
Can't wait to attend another event in beautiful Kingsport -- it's worth the trip!!
Thank you for stepping up and taking an orange hat, Stacy!!! I believe you will be a great asset to our program!!!! :F
Very excited to see this event being a great success...and to see Hazmat participating! Happy there is another range in east TN. Hope to help out at a future event at this location.
