The pistol clinic at The Piqua Fish and Game was given a lot of variety by Mother Nature. Saturday was cloudy and cold with peaks of sunshine, then light showers, and the wind only increased through the day, topping out at 50 mph gusts. Targets, chairs, coffee mugs, and anything not firmly secured were at risk of flying away. However, in Appleseed fashion we forged on and had a productive day of pistol shooting.
We had a small but mighty group of students, Chris, Bruce and Susan arrived eager to begin the weekend and kept their good humor throughout the challenges of the day.
Chris proved that he had skills by shooting a 225 on his first pistol Qualification test. He also scored a 239 on Sunday and cleared two Red Coat Targets over the weekend. Confidence and shot groups improved by Bruce and Susan through the afternoon.
Sunday arrived with sunshine, no wind and temperatures that warmed pleasantly through the day. Skills improved with slow fire drills, ball and dummy exercise, and practicing one-handed shooting. By the end of the weekend everyone had met his or her personal goals of pistol self-improvement, and also gained a lot more knowledge about the founding of this Great Country!
Thanks to our awesome instructor crew of Doc Willi, ChiefLane and Shadow870.

A VERY good shoot despite low attendance and a windy Saturday. All 3 shooters were a pleasure to have on the line.
Looks like a great event!
I am late to replying to this post, I have been prepping for the Rifle Appleseed this weekend. :snipersmi
I had so much fun that they could have charged extra. The instruction was some of the best I have had. With nearly 40 years shooting I still learned and was reminded of lessons long forgotten.
The weather was a challenge but we all pushed through and had a blast.
I want to give a huge shout out to Shep and his team for all the instruction and lessons given all weekend. You guys rock!
