It was a beautiful weekend for a Rimfire Known Distance event (RFKD) at Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club in Palm Bay, Florida. We had seven shooters on the Smallbore line Saturday. One student was called away for work and did not return on Sunday. The remaining students were experienced shooters. Some had attended full-distance Known Distance events before. At the end of the weekend, we had four who qualified to earn the Rimfire KD tab. Three new and on requalified. The remaining shooters learned a lot about themselves and their equipment and vow to dry fire and return to an RFKD again.
Kevin repeated his past success but is still on a quest for the maximum 50 score. John, Louie, and David scored in the 40's during their first RFKD. It was a joy to work with such a group of eager, competent, and genial students. Everyone was tired at the end of the weekend but were very happy to have participated.
John (JC/DC) asked for an Orange Hat. He is exceptionally qualified to become an instructor. John has attended several 25M events as well as a full-distance Known Distance clinic. We're looking forward to seeing John on the line often.
