Good afternoon, friends.
On November 18 of this year, fellow New Mexico volunteers Chionati and her husband Chris (who will have a forum name and a hat as soon as we can get him patched) were traveling back from Oregon to Alamogordo, NM in their RV, and towing their minivan. They live in their RV full time, and it contained everything they owned. The RV developed a fire in the engine compartment that consumed it as well as the towed minivan. They and their dog were able to get clear without injury. It turns out their insurance will cover the RV and the minivan, but none of their possessions. Not even the handyman tools with which they make their living. What wasn't destroyed by the fire was finished off by the smoke, ash, and water from the firefighters' efforts to extinguish it.
The events are described in some detail on the gofundme page that was started for them by one of their friends. The campaign address is https://www.gofundme.com/f/fire-claims-all-couples-possessions-in-rv-car
Any help would be appreciated.
