What a great weekend! We had 10 patriots on the line and beautiful weather. StanTheMan kicked the history off with his first presentation of strike one. We started the day with the safety rules, safe rifle, a red coat target and a lot of instruction. The first square showed some impressive groups that needed some adjustments to bring them on target. Justkim gave an awesome rendition of strike two, we had a little lunch and got back to it. With adjustments made and even more instruction, improvement was quickly seen. The green target was posted, more instruction shared and we were soon ready for an AQT. Patriot 1775 topped off the day's history with strike three and we were ready for an AQT. On the first AQT, we had one re-qualification, Adam, and three first time Appleseeder's knocking on the door. We ended the day with the red coat that showed a great deal of improvement and all participants looking forward to Sunday.
Day two got started with safety rules and review of day ones instruction, a quick verification of zeros and into the AQT grind. Mid-day we introduced Florida's newest Red hat, Mrs Waky and all the shooters helped her in her orange hat retirement, pictures coming soon. The day ended with two new rifleman, Kyle with a 218 and Lyle with a 216. Rachelle, fighting equipment all afternoon ended the day with four scores over 200. She was oh so close. I am confident that with one more event we will have many more riflemen. Persistence and perfect practice is the key. I hope to see you all back next year.
As always the instructors are the one's that make it all happen and I thank you for all you give of yourself.
Many thanks to Hurlburt Field Rifle and Pistol Club for your continued support of Project Appleseed.
