What a great weekend. 6 Shooters and several instructors came out to stretch what they have learned at 25M all the way out to 400 yards.
Our morning started early with lecture on the 3 challanges of a rifleman and the importance of gathering information or as a rifleman calls it "DOPE". Then off to the firing line to see what we have learned. After a little instruction all shooters were hitting 10 out of 10 in the standing position at 100 yards. We are off to a great start.
Day two proved to be a challange for some. It involves a bunch of walking in Myakka and that took a toll on the shooters. November is almost winter here in Fl so the temps were just barely 90. Recording DOPE was key to making this work and many learned a bunch about their rifle and their shooting.
All shooters even tried to hit the shingle shot at 250 yards but none were able this morning. In their defense almost half tried it in standing but did not hit. One shooter did clip the pole only one inch below the target, a miss is a miss but oh so close.
A great time was had by all and several questions about when the next KD event will be. For those wondering we will have a RBC in Palm Bay in April where we will have access to the 600 yard range all week!
Hope to see everybody on the line again soon.
