We started Saturday morning with the normal welcome, introductions and moved on to the safety briefing. Pistols were brought to the line and the Saturday morning Red Coat was shot. Results showed we had a great bunch of shooters, but all expressed needed work to do. Of eleven (11) shooters we could only get 4 in the 44; 3 in the 60; one in 100 and zero in button. By end of Sunday improved to 6 in 44; 5 in 60; 4 in 100; and two in button. No one put it all together (but close) to clearing. The enthusiasm of improvement over the two days was evident and all were ready for next event.
We moved on to the steady hold factors stance, grip, trigger press as top factors, followed by the six steps and NPOA instructions. Ball & Dummy were used with not great pistol to dummy round success. Two (2) SIRT Laser Pistols were brought out and the shooters were introduced to real time NPOA on target with actual resetting triggers. Related drills were shot in between the points of instruction and from the first groups shot the squares target, it was evident we had made great improvement with the understanding of stance, grip, trigger press, sight alignment, sight picture that they experienced with the hands-on laser.
This very special group of potential Pistoleer™s were 90% open sites. Most new to marksmanship with their firearms. The day moved on and the WIND got heavier.
WIND was steady at about 30 MPH with gusts noted at 45+ MPH. what a day
Breaking for lunch, was needed just to get out of wind. Histories were presented thru the day and noise from the wind drowned out a lot of voice volume, but messages were well received.
This was followed by presentation of the drills of reloading, transition targets, single hand support/strong hand, followed by PQT. The results showed need to repeat and practice. One of our shooters made the 210 christening score on Saturday, congrats to Jeff (our Canfield on-target event manager) The water from the North Bridge was cold but well received.

Sunday started cool with less wind, and the sun returned. The lack of heavy wind was short lived and idt returned in the afternoon. We started the day with a review of the safety rules and the POIs from Saturday. Pistols were brought to the line and the Sunday morning Red Coat was shot. Drills were started and cold bore/ammo were showing up. As the drills progressed the accuracy improved. We confirmed zero's and started with our first PQT's. Jeff was warmed up in the morning with 214/217/219. The remaining group were following up with steady improvement. From the 90's to 190's by the end of the day. Our event shooters were understanding what it was to be marksman. By the 5th PQT, the "Huzaahs, Huzaahs" rang out; Kassie was at 206/207/209 just couldn't cross that line, but it happened. 214/216/218 Congratulations you got it done. New Pistoleer™; Kassie. The weather was getting the best of the team, so we ended the day a little early with the Sunday Redcoat and a SPEED TREE challenge. Team 9mm challenge was won by Jeff (Congrats); Team 22 Cal challenge was won by Craig (Look at that improvement over weekend was excellent) Congrats.

It was great to see a pistol clinic for the first time, even though it was only on Sunday.
