What a delightful weekend! This was a sold out event with 10 strong patriots coming out to learn American history and precision marksmanship. Since it wouldn't be a Florida Appleseed without rain, dutifully the rain started just as we were firing the first Redcoat on Saturday morning. Fortunately, the rain was of short duration and limited intensity and the rest of the weekend was generally clear although unseasonably warm and humid. When the somewhat soggy Redcoat targets were examined it was apparent that there was "room for improvement". And thus it began…
With more than half the line having adaptive challenges as well as some rifle issues, improvisation, adaptation, and overcoming were in abundance, but our students rose to the challenges and improved rapidly. By the end of the first day a new Rifleman was revealed while another member of the same family was close behind. Congratulations to Nate for turning in a solid score and earning his patch. Raggin was close with only a shot or two away from the score. By the end of the day everyone had made big strides and we instructors felt we were well paid for our efforts.
On Sunday we had 8 students who returned and a full day on the line produced more significant and gratifying improvements in every shooter's performance. Kent was the first across the line with a credible 213 on the AQT. To prove it wasn't a fluke he did it again with another 213. Well done, sir!
To all: dry practice done perfectly is the key and I will look forward to seeing you all at an Appleseed in the future.
Lastly, I cannot thank our excellent instructors enough for their fine work and wonderful help. Peter, Jay, both Toms, and Janet made it look easy. You guys rock!
I believe some photos were taken and it would be great if you would share them.
May Liberty increase forever.
Another amazing experience! Thank you to all the instructors, your dedication to our American traditions, heritage and marksmanship is under appreciated. This was my second event and I'm ready to do it again.
This was my first Appleseed event and it will not be my last. The history and patriotism is so important to understanding the price of the freedoms we often take for granted.
Thank you to all of the instructors for taking the time to help get me on paper and then to teach me some new adaptations. Perfect practice makes perfect and I will certainly be spending some time with dry fire practice.
This is just the first step to a red hat.

Awesome folks! A pleasure to work with these students. Great to share time with Mr Pete and xsquidgator too!
7 of our 10 students improvised to find an adaptive position that worked for them. Challenges ranged from neck& back problems, knee injuries and multiple surgeries, acute and chronic pain, plus one student 2 weeks out of surgery to remove a chemo port! True love for Liberty. The persistence of these patriots was awe inspiring. Quit was not a word in their vocabulary. An honor to work with all the students.

This may be my favorite response from an Appleseed participant so far. :--- :snipersmi You seem to get it, and I hope to see you with a patch, then working through the Instructor course!
What an outstanding event...and a major dose of I.A.O. for those shooters who do not know how to give up.
And for those shooters... including those who have adapted and achieved a Rifleman's score... can indeed inspire to gain an Orange hat if they choose to pick up a bucket . Just keep on trying....
