15 shooters (sold out event!) showed up on an unseasonably windy Saturday in NM to learn history and rifle marksmanship. The line included 6 youth shooters; experience levels ranged from little to no experience with a rifle to multiple prior Appleseed events.
The strictly enforced range closing time meant some marksmanship instruction was deferred until Sunday morning.
Sunday brought high winds - gusts > 30 mph - in the afternoon. 9 shooters persisted in the path to rifleman, despite high winds. High winds made it difficult to keep targets attached to backers and caused targets to move on the order of 4 MOA. No rifleman scores were achieved, but significant persistence was demonstrated.
We had one walk on Sunday afternoon.
