Title: Ramseur Home Range, Oct 22-23, 2022
Post by: Fred on October 25, 2022, 07:34:33 AM

     What a wonderful event!

A beautiful fall weekend in NC at the Home Range!

It really doesn't get better, for both students and instructors!

Our first challenge, as instructors: The shooters showed up showing a much higher than average shooting proficiency, which meant us instructors had to work a bit harder to generate improvement in their skill.

One factor was a couple of experienced ASers who showed up from Florida - from malabar's home range, no less - one of them an IIT on a "busman's holiday"!

And a big applause for them bringing an NC husband-wife pair with them!

One disappointment was a family group which was a no-show. Sorry they missed this kind of weekend on the range.

This was the Home Range, so the shooters got to go up to the KD range and see how their .22s would do at 100 and 200 yards. This was after hearing the story of the British rifleman who in the summer of 1940 evaluated his .22 target rifle as a weapon of defense and discovered it would be effective against German invaders out to 300 yards!

Two of the shooters brought .223s and shot out to 300 yards.

We ended the weekend with two new Riflemen, and two new Orange Hats. Huzzah!

Thanks to all who came, both students and instructors!

At the end of the event, it was stressed that there is "no future but what we make" - and that we need to make it! And the nice thing is, we don't have to ask anyone's permission to save the country. How sweet a deal is that?

Thanks to Fred and everyone at Ramseur for a really special weekend. The shooters were definitely a proficient, focused, and dedicated group. I learned a ton as I always do from the shoot boss, instructors, and shooters.

I got to work with my daughter and several old and new friends on the line. Below are pictures from a proud dad of my future orange hat and the whole group in action.
