On a beautiful day to Appleseed 21 Patriots gathered to hear about their History, Heritage and learn Marksmanship. This was an Excellent group of New Yorker's who listened attentively and put on a display of Marksmanship that was impressive to say the least.
First THANK YOU to our local Range Long Island Practical Shooters Association for hosting our event and giving Project Appleseed a home here on Long Island.
Our Instructor Crew was top notch and we're in the process of rebuilding the Instructor Crew in lower NY and all turned in their PC's and will advance. Thanks to all for making this possible.
You Guys rock!
Now for our Shooters. What a fantastic group of Patriots on the line.
We started the day with the usual Safety Briefing and took care of all the necessary instructions for our event. All listened attentively and clearly understood what was expected.
We then shot our first "Hit Count Target' and I knew right there we were going to have several RIFLEMAN by days end. That turned out to be so true.
1 Repeat Rifleman.
5 New Rifleman.
As the day went on the scores just kept climbing. Those who didn't make the score were SO close and weren't knocking on the door but banging on the door.
Congrats to ALL...... O0
Jason - (a Repeat Rifleman) scored a 216 on the very first AQT.
Darius - 211 & 216
Noah - 229 & 235 (using a Bolt Action)
Chris - 229, 229, 235 (using a Bolt Action)
Brian - 218
Bill- 220
Now to top this event off we picked up TWO new ORANGE HATS! :F
Jason and Brian stepped up and are now members of our NEW YORK Instructor Crew.
New York is well on it's way to rebuilding its Instructors and our plan is to start the march to other Ranges in NY. ^:)^

Always a great event when the participants are eager to better their skills and have a teachable attitude. Proud to be able to help those throughout the day. Thank you for your hard work as well Rich. Without you, we wouldn't be what we are.
What a great looking group!
Well done, New York crew! O0
Another Great Appleseed Shoot. Thanks to Rich for running a smooth day and LIPSA for hosting the shoot at their range. I was extremely happy to see 6 participants receive Rifleman patches and 5 of them were 1st time Rifleman. Also some of the Rifleman were shooting bolt action rifles which is just incredible. Congrats to all who increase their shooting skills and knowledge of our country's history of independence. Also thanks to my fellow IITs and Instructors who also enabled this day to go smoothly and safely. God Bless You All and God Bless America.
It was an outstanding day! A crusade that started after my 1st Appleseed. About 11 years and 3 more Appleseed events I made received my patch. I am honored to part of the team.
Thanks to Rich and all the instructors that made the day possible. I could not have accomplished my goal without your assistance.
Below is the post I made back in 2011 in regards to my very first Appleseed experience. You may recognize some of the names. And that first couple hours made such an impression on me I have talked about Appleseed ever since. A true testament to the program and the people.

So I went to my 1st Appleseed on Sunday 2/27. I did not shoot, I only had a couple hours time but I wanted to check it out in preparation for attending in April.
I pulled up in the lot and was immediately greeted by Matt, aka Big Matt. Right off the bat he offered me a rifle to shoot with for the day. I explained I only had a couple hours and just wanted to observe if that was ok. Matt introduced me to VietVet, Rich iirc. He also offered up if I wanted to shoot. Then I met CharlieHotel, Chris I think. He also offered up a rifle if I wanted to shoot for the day. I then met another IIT but I do not recall his name, I apologize for that. Last but not least I met Dan, kDan I think. He also offered up a rifle if I wanted to shoot.
Man these guys do not know me from a hole in the wall and they all offered me equipment to participate. They were very welcoming. Each one of them took time to welcome me to the seed, tell me about it and explain some courses of fire. They showed me the targets used and gave me one of each. A stranager shows up late on the second day and is pretty much offered everything required to participate!
I saw everyone there getting instruction and assistance from all the ITTs and Trainers. They all got down on the ground with the shooters to give instruction. Overall I was impressed with the amount if patience and assistance given by the ITTs and Trainers to all the shooters. I observed a shooter qualify as a Rifleman. An ITT was running the line for the 1st time. It was great. I received so much info it was almost overwhelming.
I could not have been more impressed. I am excited to attend the April shoot. I look forward to meeting you all again.
Thanks for your warm welcome and making feel like a part of the group. My apologize if I got any names wrong or left anyone out.
Thanks,
Brian
This was another great event, thanks Rich for making it possible.
I saw participants at ALL skill levels ALL improve over the course of the day.
Looking forward to the next one!

Good job to all!!
I've been shooting 45 years, competitively and recreationally, and Appleseed is one of the best bang-for-your buck shooting events I've ever attended. The combination of top notch instruction, safety without attitude, mix of old and young shooters, emphasis on personal skill development and US history makes for a worthwhile day laying in a sand pit.
