Our fall 2 day event at Somers Sportman's Assn ran extremely well this past weekend with a nearly full line and plenty of instructors willing and able to help.
Saturday went very smoothly with the POI's being taught with various people modeling. After lunch and the 2nd strike we continued with positions and some drills before we got in some AQT's. In no particular order we had Adam with a 242, K with a 220, Alex 235, Brett 215 and Glenn scoring a 230. Awesome shooting!
Sunday began with a few more IIT's on the line making sure folks that needed attention got it. Not just instruction but the other things that crop up, ammo issues, rifle issues and bearing down more on the fundamentals. Steady improvement was seen in those trying hard to become Riflemen and Riflewomen.
Thanks goes out to Somers Sportsman Assn for the use of the range, everything was in order and made for a great fall event in Ct. We look forward to events there in the future.
The shooters were attentive, taking everything in and putting it to the paper. They were a great group to work with.
A big thank you goes out to mwolf, gigi6523, Hucktuey, kamilo6 and Edge. They made things happen in a good way, loaning equipment, getting on the ground and sorting things that help in making it better for the shooters and the SB.
And Ct has a new IIT. Brett has stepped up to help in Ct. We look forward to his participation and bolstering the crew.
And in case you haven't heard this from me before, a Rifleman persists.
Last weekend was a great time. Several patches were handed out and we Tom recruited a new Orange Hat. Thanks to Tom for being the shoot boss and making this happen again. A few students struggled with ammo and equipment but still learned a lot and they vowed to be back ready to get their own patch.
As an officer of Somers Sportsmen's Assoc., Inc. the Appleseed program perfectly fits our mission statement "Promoting firearm safety through education". We look forward to a continuing relationship. We are working on dates for a Winterseed and a Rimfire KD. Stay tuned....
