Wow...that was a great weekend. Although Saturday weather was iffy, Sunday was a gorgeous day in the Midwest.
We had unbelievable students. From "I've barely shot a handgun" to "I'm an expert and willing to learn" we had lots of good sharing and trading of tips and tricks.
Congratulations to all of our Pistoleerâ„¢s. I personally knew many of the participants and it isn't a surprise that so many scored because I knew how much work you've put into this. Congrats to:
- Bill - about time and I'm glad it wasn't with a Glock :o)
- Bruno - first with a rimfire and almost with a CF
- Rich - even though it was a requal you really rocked that Black Mamba and showed us how to break the limits
- Dave - great to see another T2G-er do it
- Brandon - long live the CZ-mafia!
- Jeff - glad we could show up the Ohio crew :)
- John - happy to have another Pistol Instructor on the west side
Did I mention our new shooters? Karin was our "Most Improved" and Reilly was our "Most Patient" shooter. Bob...your perseverance shows that your match shooting will greatly improve. Bill, you get the award for "most pistols tried" and you are showing great improvement.
Again, thanks to my incredible instructor crew - RangeRat67, Pookie, Fidget - and a great club in WRGC. Thanks for absorbing and responding to our history and heritage. Can't wait for next time!!

It was a great weekend. The course of fire was a thoughtful, practical course of instruction that starts out a new shooter with a firm foundation, but also brings value to and challenges an experienced shooter. It showcased Appleseed's strengths; well-thought-out material with broad appeal, delivered by friendly, knowledgeable, passionate instructors in a supportive environment. I'd do that again, and I'll encourage others to attend.
I was lucky to be plunked in the middle of Reilly, Bob, and Karin on the firing line, and their focus on learning and pleasant dispositions made the right end of the line the right place to be.
Many thanks to our instructor crew for choosing to use their weekend to bring this knowledge of marksmanship and American history to others. And even schlepping from the other side of the state to do so. Watervliet Rod and Gun Club was a great host site as well.
I hope to see each of you on the line again! John
What a wonderful weekend!

I want to thank everyone for a great weekend! The instructors were wonderfully patient and very knowledgeable and the other participants were helpful and welcoming! I am looking forward to the spring for another Appleseed. Hopefully my pistol won't be as temperamental! :wb: **)
What a great weekend. Learning new pistol shooting techniques and, of course, American history. I love hearing about what happened in those days that preceded the revolutionary war and the birth of this great nation. Specially from the mouth of such passionate people. Thank you very much to all instructors and fellow shooters. I had a great time!
Thank you for such a wonderful class. I appreciate how helpful everyone was to this newbie! I have been talking the class up. I plan to return and earn the patch! Thank you for being so generous with your time, resources and knowledge. ~ Karin
