Title: Greenville, NC AAR - October 8, 2022

We had a one-day pistol clinic at the beautiful Pitt County Wildlife Club, a newish range for Project Appleseed.  This clinic was sold out!  Unfortunately, two of the shooters wound up unable to participate, so we had 13 shooters on the line, plus a visiting Appleseed instructor.  This was a wonderful bunch of safe and engaged shooters.  They were attentive to the instruction, and they worked hard through a long day.  Fortunately, God blessed us with some perfect North Carolina fall weather, so things couldn't have been more pleasant.

This event included the inaugural North Carolina dot challenge event, which was won by Kim.  She earned a fabulous prize (an RWVA pin!).

We also had two new Pistoleerâ„¢s.  Kim scored a 226, and Wayne shot a 218.  Others, including Steve, were within a few points of the score.  The hits count targets at the beginning and end of the day definitely showed improvement among our shooters, including two cleared targets (one by Kim, one by Jesse).  I know that several of these shooters mean to come back asap, and I think that they'll be walking away from their next events with that patch.  It was a treat having all of our shooters, but I think we particularly enjoyed Ed, the revolver shooter in the drill sergeant hat!  It's great to see someone running a revolver like a such a champ.  There may be a pending blue hat promotion, but I'll withhold that name until we have official word.  :)

We had a truly fine group of instructors.  Blue Hat Bazooka Man was a tremendous help not just with admin but all day long, serving as a coach and RSO.  We couldn't have done the shoot without his expert help.  Retired orange hat Mother Batherick was with us on what I hope is her way back into active service in Appleseed!  And we also had Rimbo and Vaportrace on the line as instructors.  Monkey from Virginia was with us as a shooter and he pitched in as needed to help, too!

I hope that we'll have many more events at Pitt County Wildlife Club.  It's an excellent facility and it was a treat to meet some of the directors and officers.

Newbie shoot boss did not take pictures, but I'm hoping others might post some.
