Title: Foggy glasses
Post by: Roswell on October 02, 2022, 04:22:09 PM
I am curious what products/ideas people have for combatting fogged glasses. I feel like I fight this all the time in the humidity of Georgia.

A friend of mine speaks highly of a product called *ahem* Cat Crap. I suspect he got it initially because of the name  ;D but he says it's the greatest stuff ever.

I'd just asked about this a month or so back. This time of year gives me problems when it starts getting cooler.

Cat Crap was one of the suggestions.

One of the guys said to check with a 'Scuba' shop. I guess that would make sense since divers sure don't need fog.

I am not sure that anti fog for scuba masks would work but it cant hurt to try. I would recommend "Sea Drops gold" if you went with a scuba product. It is a gel and has to be rinsed off once applied but it works in any environment underwater. I have been in water from 50 to almost 90 and my mask does not fog.

The trick i usually tell people down here in humid Fl is to tilt your glasses slightly so they are not tight against your face. Yes it does reduce their effectiveness because it opens the top of your glasses up but if you are wearing a hat I think it is minimal and it works.  :)

I've covered the glasses with shaving foam (not gel), let it sit for a few, then rinse off with cold water.  Don't know what it does but it certainly helps with cold weather fog, haven't tried it in high humidty.

The anti-fog cleaning wipes from Bausch and Lomb help a lot.  I wear Rx safety glasses every day.  Wearing a mask with them was almost impossible before theses wipes.
