What a great event.
18 people showed up on Saturday morning aged from 12 to 84. Yes, it was muddy, yes, the threat of rain was on us all day on Saturday, but the folks stuck it out and had a great time. We started the morning off with the basics and worked our way up to all the fun stuff.
At lunch we talked about the first and second strikes and many were surprised at some of the events that they were not aware of that happened that day.
As the entire rest of the state of Florida was receiving buckets of rain we were blessed with clear skies and a stiff breeze. By the end of the day we were able to get in Two AQTs before the range closed up for the day.
Sunday morning came early for many of us. At the range before daylight to get set up. Although we started with 18 shooters on Saturday we only had 9 on Sunday. This was to be expected. Many knew they could not come on Sunday and let us know well before the event. Sunday was a beautiful day and we got right to it. After a morning review we went to squares targets. The targets looked great so we did a quick review of everything they might need and went right to AQTs. We don't normally do an AQT before lunch but this group was ready for it.
The range closes at 3PM on Sunday so we had to leave early but the scores really improved over the weekend.
Eathen went from a 126 to a 190 on his AQT. Jemma went from 139 to 180. We cant forget our elite shooters either. David has been chasing a 250 score for a while. This was not his weekend, lots of mud slows any of us down, but he turned in scores of 234 to 247
There are many more folks that should feel good about their performance.
Harry with a high score of 185
Russell with a hire score of 187
Charles with a high score of 206 Ouch that hurts only 4 points away from rifleman.
Even Ben who was shooting a rifle bigger than him turned in a good score from his rifle rest.
Thanks to all that attended. We look forward to seeing you at the range again.

An awesome weekend to be sure! I am so proud of all the shooters! I think every single person improved over the weekend. I am so excited to be part of such a great program that turns out great shooters, but better human beings. Yes, it was muddy. We laughed it off and shot anyway! Huzzah! So many of you are knocking on the door of Rifleman, and a few of perfect score! What else can you ask for? Oh yeah! New Orange Hats! I'm talking to you, David Sr! Thank you all for a memorable weekend!
Pirate Girl,
What a great weekend it was indeed! I can't thank you and SeaSniper enough for the hospitality you show in hosting this Leesburg event! It really makes for a special weekend for us! It was great seeing all of the instructors in attendance and many Thanks to all of you who spent time with my wife on her first ever event!
I was really pleased with Ethan and Jemma's progress. I think they are a shoe in for Rifleman next time they come!
David Jr is definitely chasing 250 like crazy! I feel bad for pinging him with my casinings all weekend ;D
Oh I know that Orange hat is coming like a freight train! :D Besides, I will need to start learning the ropes if we are going to help host a more regular event in our neck of the woods (North Central Florida). We have some great shooters and liberty lovers up here!
Look forward to seeing you all soon!
Farmer Dave
Amen to that! If you need help getting the range up and coming you just holler out and we will come a running!
