Title: Kerrville Tx, Sept. 10-11 shoot
Post by: A-lister on September 15, 2022, 01:38:36 PM
Another great weekend here in Kerrville!
The weather Saturday morning was great, 71dg and cloudy. We had 15 shooters signed up and ready to go. Also we had 8 instructors on the line!   :F  Chad, Mark, Peter, Marshal, Jerry, Alexay, Jim and Me. Oh yeah and my wife doing check in! It sure helps to have that kind of support  at an event.
We jumped right in getting the safety brief, introductions and the morning routine going. Chad led off with the Preamble and as always did an excellent job starting the day. I did the first strike then we jumped right in with the morning redcoat. Wow we had some great shooters, but we could see there was work to be done.  :DH:
Everyone joined in and the work got started.
At lunch Peter did a great job on the second strike. And Peter passed to IIT3. Then we continued on into the positions and IMC. We could see the improvements as we continued.
Then about 1500hrs a lone thunderstorm crept up on us. The skies opened up and things were fine until the lightning started.  We toughed it out for a while then realized after an hr. that it was time to call it a day. We were soaked. So we were not able to shoot an afternoon Redcoat target.
Sunday morning started out great and the morning redcoat showed an amazing improvement.  :--- By 1100 hrs we were shooting AQTs! At lunch Marshal did a wonderful job telling the third strike.  O0 And he promoted to IIT4! Next month he is going for his Red Hat!
As the day progressed we completed 6 AQTs with 3 requals and several knocking on the door.
Joseph a return shooter and solid Rifleman brought his M1 Garand and shot both days with it! Wow what a pile of brass!  :~ He even let others shoot it.
We had two teens on the line, Clyde and John who shot great! Its always good to have youth on the line. And Gysel you are almost there! Your enthusiasm is contagious! Keep it up!
As we finished the day with our Redcoat everyone was amazed at their improvement. Sat. am only 25% were in the 100 yd
target and 10% in the 200yd. noone in the 3 & 400yd. accept Roger. Sunday afternoon it was 75% in the 1,2,3 and 400 yd target! Outstanding!
Once again a huge thanks to all of the Kerrville Cadre. Roger our anchor on the end of the line just pounding out massive rifleman scores. Jerry our veteran of 76 shoots, working the line and scoring. Jim your enthusiasm and encouragement keeps us going! Chads rock solid instruction and work ethic make a shoot easy for the rest of us. Alexay as line boss and instructor never misses a beat. Mark its great to have you back on the line telling your stories.
Thanks everyone for making it a great shoot. Its encouraging to see your efforts and the excitement on the shooters faces as they improve and say they cant wait to come back!
