Title: Prone eye protection?
Post by: Guns&Hoses on September 15, 2022, 09:57:53 AM
What are your recommendations for eye Pro? I find in the prone position the bridge sometimes obscures my vision, and being in a humid environment (Arkansas) sweat/fogging is an issue.

I have some Berretta eye pro that are okay.  The best I've found are from Harbor Fright as far as not fogging up.

Anybody have suggestions on the fogging problem? I was thinking about trying Rain-X - nothing else I've tried so far works very well.

I don't need to wear these at an appleseed, but when I am in full kit (armor, helmet, etc) they can't be beat in either heat or cold.

For appleseed you can try to find a pair of safety glasses with hinged temples.  It allows the lenses adjusted up or down on the face.  I have found them at walmart in the past.  Otherwise you may just have to try many different pairs.  I think many of us have been through this.

same problem here.  unless the weather is jussst right.  For cold weather I have used double paned ski goggles but you have to shop around to find some that are ansi rated.

I just sucked it up and bought the ess goggles with a fan.  I tried every goop, gel, paste, liquid and several brands of "no fog" glasses with no success.

Not sure about recent formulations, but, last I knew, Rain-X HURTS if you get some in an eye.
Find a SCUBA diving shop and buy some mask anti-fog.

Cat Crap! No not that, it's an anti fog paste brand I usually find at ski shops. Rub it in with a microfiber cloth.

Also ask your optician for their recommendations. Mine has something that says "Zeiss" on it, I don't dare ask what it costs 😆

I use "Optix 55 Anti-Fog Spray" for my shooting glasses and ice-hockey face shields and appreciate it ...  (available @amazon if use them...)

Good luck!
