I realize developing marksmanship skills is the sort of thing where you have to "just go do it" when all is said and done. But its technical too. Ive been looking for books or videos on the subject of marksmanship and so far, these are what Ive come up with:
Gunsite lists the Marine Corp manual "Rifle Marksmanship" as one book, http://gunsite.com/store/page7.html
CMP website lists a 3 DVD set titled "Highpower Rifle Competition Shooting" at http://www.odcmp.com/Programs/publications.htm
There is another book Ive read about by CMP President Gary L. Anderson thats supposed to be pretty good titled "Marksmanship"
Plus of course, Fred's own "Guide to being a rifleman." ;)
Any other recommendations just on the subject of rifle marksmanship, using iron sights?

Good stuff here - http://www.zediker.com/
Jeff Cooper's "Art of the Rifle". A bit high level, but covers all bases.
G. David Tubb's "High Power Rifle". Very very detailed and analytical look at position shooting including a chapter just for service rifles. He has a newer book out called "Rifle Shooter" but I have not read it yet.
This gem has probably been outta print for almost a half a century... "competitive rifle shooting" By James Sweet...Third edition was printed in 1954.... If you can find it, get it.
Marksmanship: An NRA Official Guide to Better Shooting, Gary L. Anderson. He's a gold medal winner for the 300 meter Rifle event in 1964 and 1968. It reads like a printed version of an AS shoot.

I see the first scheduled Nebraska AS is Sept. 5-6 in Grand Island. You Nebraskans should invite him out, even if only to talk.
Here's a .PDF version of the Marine Manual.

The classic US military training films and book are very popular and highly rated.
