Wow, that was a hot Appleseed!! Temperatures soared to near 100 degrees with clear skies. Our hardy band of 13 shooters at this one-day Appleseed got baked as they received rifle marksmanship instruction and practiced under the unforgiving blast of an August Iowa sun. Fortunately, we did have cover and a breeze during instruction blocks and the ever important history and heritage lessons.
I very much appreciated the awesome group of shooters that we had. It was a nice mix of youth and adults. They all did a fantastic job of persevering and improving their marksmanship.
This was a special weekend where we had two one day events at this range with Rifle on Saturday and Pistol on Sunday. Some of our Rifle students took advantage of Sunday's pistol clinic. I also know the instructors really enjoyed the experience of instructing at two back to back weekend events for two platforms.
