What a great weekend in the Pacific Northwest. Yes it was a little rainy on Saturday and to the natives it was a bit hot on Sunday, (high of 60) but it looked like everybody had a good time.
13 great folks came out for a weekend of History Heritage and Marksmanship. Saturday morning started out with some history and our first red coat. That Red Coat showed we had some work to do as only 5 shooters put 3 rounds in a silhouette. We spent the rest of the morning working on our fundamentals. Lots of dry fire and lots of one on one instruction.
By late afternoon we found a new rifleman and the red coat scores had improved.
Day two was beautiful. The sun was out the deer came out to the range to watch and we went to work. Reviewed everything we had learned from day one and kept working on our skills. We did not find any more rifleman by the end of the weekend but did have many turn in great scores. All but one shooter was able to turn in a score of 125 or higher.
Some notable mentions.
Silvia with a high score of 178 improved from a 120 on her first AQT
Harley with a high score of 194
Alan with a 216 (Man Alan loves to shoot those 4 min AQTs)
Ying with a high score of 179
Many more great scores and great improvement over the weekend. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you on the firing line again soon.
A great weekend indeed!
Kudos to all the shooters for listening well and now that you've got the fundamentals understood, after some practice, you'll get to the magic 210 easily next time!
And thanks to Scuba Steve and Lady Gator for traveling all the way across the country to join us and run the event.
The event couldn't have happened without you both.
