AAR TO FOLLOW...
15 Students were signed up for this event, and 15 showed up, as well as Dad for 2 of the youth students. (That's a dedicated dad, if you ask me.) 15 returned for Sunday.
The instructors and myself then proceeded to go over the finer points of safety, steady hold factors, the 6 steps, transitions, and most importantly, the actual events of April 19th, 1775. The best part of it was that our youth students already had an idea of what happened that day, so even more kudos to Josh!
Student scores improved through the weekend, and is reflected on the cleared redcoat targets, the RIFLEMAN patches awarded, and the PA 1st. Regt. patches awarded.
Those students that didn't earn RIFLEMAN patches were so very close, with scores in the high 190's to low 200's. There was one "perfect" 210 score, and Roy was anointed with North Bridge water, which was miraculously bottled on 4/19/1775, in an amazingly modern looking plastic bottle!
I am continually humbled by the enthusiasm of the students, their willingness to learn, and the fact they come to SLCFSA to take the course, sometimes driving hundreds of miles to attend. I am sustained by the Quarryville cadre. They continue to push me to be a better instructor, and as they improve and grow, I do as well, and the students performance gets better and better.
I Therefore thank the students, the cadre, and invite all to return and continue. RIFLEMAN is not a destination, but a journey.
Also, BBQ_Bandit passed the IIT-3 PC with aplomb, and his promotion was submitted.
