Title: Alliance, NE one day Appleseed, June 11, 2022

WOW!  We have had a cooler than normal spring here in the panhandle of Nebraska, and then as soon as it was Appleseed time, it was HOT.  Temperature was not so terrible but the dang humidity was way higher than normal and we are not used to that!!!!!!!!  We probably didn't reach the Caliente standards however, so we're not going to bug Mrs. Smith about that-just put us in the weenie category!  It was a perfect shoot as far as being easy on the instructors-every one of the seven shooters had been to a prior shoot so they knew the drill.  Plus-all shooters were right-handed, all were shooting 10-22's plus two Wildcats, hence all magazine fed; all had slings; all had scopes;  such a deal!  Thanks to the Alliance Rifle Club for letting us use their range again, free of charge, and to the instructors, Clay, Mitch, and Bill.  Congratulations to one new rifleman, Jeremy, for shooting a 215 and earning the patch.  All of the other shooters were doing well too.  I have had several good shooters in the past, but I don't think I have ever had one who said qualifying was a piece of cake and could be achieved easily.  Thanks to the guys for sharing the history of the beginning of the Revolutionary War and to Bill, for sharing his expertise and talk and display about period long guns, cartridge boxes, and relevant facts and figures.  (Bill is a world class black powder, long range competitor)
