A total of twenty shooters attended this past weekend's event at Bozrah Rod and Gun club. Great weather and conditions made for a smooth running 'seed.
Saturday with the help of Kosciuszko and CAANY we got underway and had some fundamentals down in prone by lunchtime. The afternoon the POI on sitting and standing along with cadence and drills allowed us to get in 2 AQT's by day's end, netting the following results. Ryan who has hung in for a few shoots managed to break into the realm of Rifleman with a 212 score which was improved upon over the weekend to 222. Way to go Ryan! Cameron firing a 220 along with Andrew's 219 rounded out the day's RM scores.
On Sunday kamilo6 helped on the line and we started the grind in earnest, along with a few drills interspersed. Four more Rifleman requalified with Brian and a 226, John 225, Ed , 210 and Todd with a 234. IIRC Jason was in the high 180's and others showed improvement throughout the weekend.
We had 3 junior attendees and 5 family groups that were there one or both days, which was awesome! The group was great to work with and things flowed well over the two days. And we can't forget the ladies who attended, most being new to shooting. They all stayed the course hanging in until days end.
I'd like to thank the Bozrah R&G club for hosting the event. They have been solid in support of Appleseed since we've been involved with them and do a great job from the range being ready to the great breakfast and lunch that Ted and Bob put together. We look forward to returning in the future.
The instructor crew did great, from range setup and working the weekend until closing down Sunday. Thank you gentlemen.
As always, Riflemen and Riflewomen persist.
Unfortunately we could only attend on Saturday, so hopefully someone can follow up with some pictures from Sunday. What a great day Saturday was! As you can see the sun was out in full force and made for very warm day. The pictures attached show the turnout for the day, Appleseeders both new and returning, receiving instructions after the safety briefing, points of instruction, the firing line, and three Appleseeder being presented with their Rifleman Patch. Many thanks to all involved, our Shoot Boss TOMINCT and Kosciuszko, and the wonderful team at Bozrah Rod & Gun that not only made the range available but provide a fantastic breakfast and lunch. Apologies we were not there on Sunday to assist with the disassembly of the target line.
Thank you to everyone. Lots of great progression by Sunday.
It was a fun weekend.
Looks like a fantastic Appleseed. Unfortunately I was not able to attend this one. The crew at Bozrah Rod and Gun Club are great hosts for Appleseed. The food they provide does spoil us. :F
