The second shoot of the year at Pioneer Sportsmen in Dunbarton, NH was a great success and very safe. The weather was fantastic, maybe on the hotter side, but hydration was the key. We had 10 shooters for Saturday with 7 returning for Sunday. We were also fortunate to have a Master Instructor join us, thank you Steel Thunder for volunteering your weekend. We heard a tremendous 1st strike at Lunch and very passionate 2nd strike and 3rd strike at afternoon breaks. Through the afternoon we saw the groups shrink and did get an AQT in before the end of the day. That resulted in requalification by Baber (239 w/a bolt), Michael (230) and Dan (224). We finished with the Hits Count target and two first time Appleseeds cleaned it. Excellent job Jason and Gabriel.
Sunday morning, after the safety brief, we alternated between AQTs and drills. In the second AQT we minted a new Rifleman in his first Appleseed. Gabriel, who will be 17 in a few weeks, put together his steady hold factors, trusted his NPOA, six steps of firing each shot and scored a 211, again in his first Appleseed. We had more requalifications with Andrew (220), Michael (220, 224, 223) and Dan (216, 225, 222, 239, 224). We heard about some Dangerous Old Men at lunch. Mid afternoon, the firing line was moved back to 100 yards and out came a Garand and two ARs. Two notable results were 11 year old Geoffrey scoring 8 hits with his holdover and 16 year old Gabriel getting all 10 of his shots as hits. They were both presented with William Diamond patches.
New Hampshire is growing. We have a great group of instructors. Thank you for the support and see you at the next one.
Great work Geoffrey and Gabriel! That was a perfect shoot, MattNH.
Outstanding weekend all around.
Thanks to all the instructors! Really appreciate all the time, energy and effort.
Here are some pics and a bonus video from the weekend.

Two more pictures of our youth shooters and their William Diamond patches. Both Geoffrey and Gabriel were very safe and engaged for the whole weekend. It's just a matter of time before Geoffey joins Gabriel in the Rifleman ranks. Thank you both for great wekend.
MattNH
Congrats to all! It was a joy to work with all of you and I look forward to coming back to NH.
I'll also do a big shout-out to Geoffrey who was the most attentive 11 year old I've ever seen on the history. His dad told me he never knew that history was such an interest!
The spirit of Liberty is alive and well in New England!
On Sunday morning at 6AM I woke up to hear Geoffrey watching cartoons.
Went to see what he had on and sure enough it was the Schoolhouse Rock "The Shot Heard Round the World"...

Sir, may I say that you just made my day. Thanks for sharing that nugget of hope.
Sounds like a great event - nicely done, guys!
