We had a great group of folks attend the 4/19 Anniversary shoot at Hartford Gun Club this past weekend. 17 shooters attending along with the IT crew of scout74, kamilo6 and Kosciuszko made for a smooth running shoot with much improvement see over the both days. The weather helped, sun and warm Saturday with overcast and seasonal on Sunday.
The Sat am redcoat showed that there were several that had some trigger time beforehand with 9 shooters hitting the 200 yd RC target, but it fell off quickly from there. POI's and demos with instruction confirmed with groups on squares showing the results of their efforts. By late afternoon we got into positions and an AQT before the last RC.
Sunday started with the obligatory RC and then AQT's to those who were ready and squares to those who needed more in the fundamentals. After lunch all were on AQT's and several Riflemen were pronounced.
John was the first, requalfying with a 22rf and a 214 on Saturday and again Sunday with a centerfire and a 210 score. Brett also requaled with a 213 Sunday. Yes, John got the dousing for the 210.
New Riflemen were as follows: Sean with a 213 with a CF rifle, Bob with a 219, Heath with a 22 bolt and a high of 232, Alex who inched his score upwards after every AQT and made it with a 216 and lastly Mike, with a 210 and another cool wet welcome on becoming a Rifleman.
Others worked at it hard with much improvement, it was good to see some CF rifles and bolt guns on the line. Also Joe with his boys were there to take in much and get some fundamentals down.
Thanks to all the folks who made this event happen, it had been 3 years since our last 'seed there and it was good to be back. A big thank you to Bob for setting this up and the Hartford Gun Club for the use of their facility. It's not easy to tie up a range for a weekend, we appreciate it much.
The attendees were a good group to work with and all took to the instruction and help very well.
Thanks to the IT crew of scout74, kamilo6 and Kosciuszko for their efforts and time, it couldn't happen without you. Not just the time but the loaning of equipment and doing what it takes to make it happen for those on the firing line. There should be some pics soon.
As always, a Rifleman persists.
Glad Appleseed CT was back at The Hartford Gun Club in 2022.
Here are the pictures of the Riflemen.
Looks like a few had a taste of the water from "The North Bridge".
Thank you to kamilo6 for sending me the pictures to post to the AAR.
Glorious weekend weather in Connecticut.
Wonderful people.
You guys made it fun!
