Title: Dubuque, Iowa 23-24Apr2022
Post by: IXOYE on April 24, 2022, 10:35:41 PM
We had a great shoot in Dubuque this weekend. We were all glad the forecast for rain throughout the weekend didn't come true. However, we still had to deal with some very harsh winds both days that never seemed to let up. But we didn't let that get the best of us and we ended up with some great results. Saturday we saw Mike re-qualify as a distinguished rifleman shooting a 239 with iron sights. On Sunday Mike and both his boys cleared the redcoat target at the end of the day. Cole cleared both of them that day, and Abe (age 9) earned his rifleman patch on the very last AQT of the day with a score of 213. Sunday also provided an opportunity for all our Orange hats and our Red hat to shoot some AQT's and I'm happy to report they all scored rifleman.

Many thanks to Ames for helping instruct on Saturday, and many thanks to Appleseed Dad, Daughter of Liberty, MellieOakley, and ShootinShorty for all their help with instructing the entire weekend. We also need to thank the Izaak Walton club for allowing us to use their range. Lastly, we need to thank all of the patriots who came out to learn about our heritage of liberty and rifle marksmanship. It was a great weekend and I very much enjoyed working with everyone. I am also very pleased to see how much everyone improved their marksmanship skills.

I should also add that Abe's brother Cole was knocking on the rifleman door with a score of 206. Clearing both Redcoats on Sunday clearly demonstrates he has learned to shoot well. Now he just needs to work on getting his NPOA a little quicker in stages of 2 & 3 and he'll be there.

Wow 239 with irons and cleared Red Coats . . . NICE SHOOTING! Sounds like another fun event in eastern Iowa! Wish I could've attended!

Thanks for running another awesome shoot IXOYE. Cole, Abe, Dad and I all had a blast.

The instruction was excellent as was the history. We might have to find another shoot here soon since Cole is so close to shooting Rifleman.

What a great weekend in Dubuque!

To all the shooters, thanks for giving up your weekend to spend it on the range with us!  We truly enjoyed working with you all and appreciate your hard work!  You made our jobs a lot of fun!!

IXOYE (Rex) - thanks for all the hard work running a well executed shoot!  I appreciate you and all you do!

DaughterOfLiberty, MellieOakley, and ShootinShorty - I am so blessed to have you as my daughters!  And, it is wonderful to see how much you value Liberty and want to share that passion!  Thank you for all your hard work on the line with the shooters, in delivering blocks of instruction, telling stories, and in set-up and tear-down.

I am looking forward to the next shoot!

-Chris (Appleseed Dad)
