This was a fantastic weekend with 12 determined patriots, six were first time shooters. The weather started out shaky with rain and lightning but had moved on shortly after the shooters arrived, the remainder of the weekend was perfect. I would first like to commend all the instructors, they did a great job and the results speak for themselves.
Two new orange hats, maybe three and four new rifleman. We had Dylan with a score of 224, his first Appleseed and with a borrowed rifle ended the day with the high score for the weekend. Gene, Dylan's father shot a 222 and is thinking over the orange hat, this was his second Appleseed. Ron, (AKA father of many) his fourth Appleseed, shot a 219 and took an orange hat. Chris also took an orange hat, this was her 6th Appleseed and she arrived determined that she was leaving the event with a patch and she did just that. Congratulations to all, I can't wait to work with you on your Appleseed journey.
We had many that came close and they all deserve a mention. Eli had a high score of 165, Douglas had a 196, his son Samuel shot a 171. Victoria, Ron's daughter shot a 143 and wants to come back. Aiden shot a 193 and his brother Caleb shot a 120, his mother Jackie a 121 and his father Shawn a 208 this was the families first time shooting and they all did a great job. We also had four instructors re-qualify.
This is an E-Mail we received from the Taylor family and I thought I would include it. Good morning Kim and Chuck! The Taylor family wants to thank you for everything. We have decided to skip today, we got everything and more we hoped for yesterday and I can hardly move this morning, haha.
Seriously though we have done many activities and have never seen such a welcoming and selfless group of people. All the volunteers were so generous with sharing their equipment and extensive knowledge, also so patient with us newbies. I'm excited we have had the chance to meet you all.
Thanks again ! Have an amazing day

Just Kim will post the pictures soon
This was a great event! All shooters showed up with teachable attitudes and all made amazing progress. Congrats to Chris, Ron, Dylan and Gene on scoring Rifleman scores -- Special thanks and CONGRATS to Chris and Ron for taking orange hats! Can't wait to work with you!
I hope to see everyone back again!
As always, thank you Tim for bringing out your long-rifle and allowing everyone to shoot it -- and your great story-telling.

Sounds like a great event, sorry we missed it! I am happy for everyone, but especially Chris. I've seen her work so hard! She definitely has one of the strongest traits of a Rifleman - Persistence! Congrats.
Another great weekend at Hurlburt. Students were very attentive and SAFE, no extra holes! Excellent progress was made and everyone left with an appreciation of the grit and the sacrifice our fore fathers. Looking forward to the fall shoots!
