Title: 2022 Michigan IBC - April 2-3, 2022 - Lapeer, MI

ETA: My files are attached to this other thread for download by instructors/Applecore: https://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=61834.0

After a two-year Covid-induced hiatus, the famous Michigan IBC convened for the first time since 2019.  While we broke our over-40-attendees streak, 29 instructors descended on Lapeer, Michigan to shake off the rust and get a leg-up on 2022.

Friday evening's extracurricular activity was an abbreviated Pistol Clinic put on by Rangerat67.  While we did not have any instructors qualify on the PQT, many are knocking at the door.  And this was a good "primer" for the Pistol IBC rangerat is leading next month in Kingston.

Saturday started with the Pledge and a tribute to our fallen instructor/Shoot Boss, Super Trooper, Terrell Reber.  T.Wolf read a wonderful tribute that he wrote, and that was followed by Graywolf leading us in prayer.  Terrell's son, Tyler, spent the weekend with us and is considering taking an Orange Hat to follow in his father's footsteps.  We reminded Tyler that whether he took a hat or not, there was a room full of 'brothers' and 'sisters' that had his back and would always be there for him.

The Shoot Boss then presented an Orange Hat to our newest IIT: icychicken!

The rest of the day covered the Safety Briefing, GI Sling, Prone, Six Steps, NPOA and IMC POIs and breakouts for ALL instructors to perform each POI.

Grawywolf taught how to tell a Strike, how to put a Strike together, and then covered First Strike.  His son, Click, covered Second Strike in the afternoon.

Saturday wrapped up with Rifle Familiarization after dinner, giving all instructors an opportunity to learn and handle five classes of rifles - ARs, M1/M1As, 10/22s, 597s and 795s.

Sunday finished up with the remaining POIs - standing and seated, with more breakouts.  3.Dogs (Third Strike), also a son of Graywolf , and Click (DOMs) finished the history lessons with breakouts for each.  The troubleshooting/diagnosing shooter errors took a good part of the afternoon, finishing up with talks on LadySeed and the Pistol Program.

The IBC was officially ended at 4:30 on Sunday afternoon, followed by a record-setting teardown/cleanup, thanks to just about everyone sticking around and pitching in.

I couldn't have pulled off this event without the help of a LOT of people....

Superheat/number6 - troubleshooting
SteelThunder- Saturday POI demos, RC
Our "first family" of history - Graywolf, 3.Dogs and Click
rangerat67 - Appleseed Pistol Clinic
number6 - logistics, planning, SC
TL/Madhatter - LadySeed

And thanks again to everyone for the enormous help tearing down and cleaning up.

Looks like another great IBC in the "State Up North", but then again that's to be expected. Especially since Steel Thunder had a "practice" IBC a few weeks ago.  >:D

Nice tribute to Super Trooper.  O0

A HUGE "Bless You, Thank You" for everyone investing time, effort, and treasure into those with less time "on the trail" to increase skills & proficiency. I am humbled and honored to spend time with such people. Thank you!!
