Another awesome Pistol Clinic at Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Clinic. We were allowed to reserve the new 25-yard Universal Pistol Range. This gives up the capacity to host 18 shooters. We limited this event to 12 shooters to maintain a safe student/instructor ratio. As the pistol program matures, we will undoubtedly have enough instructors for a full line. The weather was perfect for shooting.
Several of our shooters were experiencing their first handgun training. They caught on quickly and once the stance, grip, and six steps of firing the shot became natural, their accuracy improved. Several of the students had attended previous Appleseed rifle clinics and found this event to be challenging. I think I even heard, "Can I shoot this course with my M1?"
Danny Jr., with his dad and two uncles, shared his 19th birthday with us on Sunday. This will be an event to remember and reminisce about. Huzzah!
Stephen (Evil_G) scored Expert several times at his first pistol clinic to earn his Pistoleerâ„¢ patch. Debbie (EpicQuilter) and Dennis (Alarm Lister) both requalified. Their goal was to do it this time with a 9MM pistol but settled for qualifying scores with their .22 target pistols. Joseph earned Sharpshooter status while Allison and Jonathan scored Marksman. Debbie and Stephen both cleared the Redcoat target. That's a target to frame! Great shooting folks!
ScubaSteve made the trip from Lakeland and MissConduct from Hollywood to help us instruct this clinic. We appreciate you!
Thanks to all the shooters and instructors for a safe and fun event. Hope to see you all back on the line in November for our next Pistol Clinic at PMRPC!
