The weather in Homestead was downright gorgeous! At times the gentle cool breezes lulled you into a feeling of "doesn't get any better than this!"
We started with many beginners and first-time shooters, and with each volley and course of instruction, you could literally see the expressions of "Aha!"
What a personal privilege and honor it was to work with and be amongst such a dedicated group of students and instructors!
Although there were no patches handed out this weekend, many of the students overcame challenges and a few were just dancing on the edge of getting there as well. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be rifleman patches in the near future!
My personal thanks to all who helped make this weekend an overwhelming success. I couldn't have been more blessed with such a dedicated group of instructors and an amazing grouping of students with such willingness to learn.
Huzzah! No patches, but with 4 shooters under the age of 16, many had never held a rifle before, we had many scores over 150. I am super proud of these shooters, and I see many patches in the future. Can't wait to see ya'll again real soon!
Thank you to all who came. What matters at an event is not if you scored, but did you learn, and have you acquired some skills that will allow you to improve. Practice getting into the positions at home. Make sure your rifle fits you. An expert score will come with persistence and time. I look forward to seeing you all at another event.
