We had an excellent shoot this weekend, we were blessed with good weather. It was a cool brisk morning (not dissimilar from the fateful day of April 19th), but warmed up nicely by the afternoon of both days.
We had a good turnout, with a number of walk-on's brought by repeat attendees. We had a total of 21 shooters! It is inspiring to see people spread our message and come back for more, as the more people that here it, the more help we have to bail out our sinking ship.
Our shooters were of various backgrounds, and showed good progress through the course of the event. We had 2 requals, with one of the Requal attendees achieving the coveted distinguished rifleman patch for the first time. We had two attendees qualify for rifleman for the first time after putting in hard work. One of the newly minted rifleman rose to the occasion, and stepped up to accept an Orange hat to be begin his journey to helping with the cause.
Our instructor cadre was absolutely outstanding, and I could not have asked for a better group of volunteers, and our benediction was delivered with some sage words from Fred himself.
Thank you all for such a great weekend of history and marksmanship!

It was a pleasure to finally shoot at a Appleseed event. My family had a great time as did our 2 friends who came along. I have not seen a event better administered then Appleseed. My children have already shot rifleman at prior events with Sea cadets. My wife now is hooked and we are looking forward to joining the team and helping out at future events.
