It was another beautiful weekend for Liberty and Marksmanship at Liberty Ridge Ranch bison farm. It was great to have several large families on the line with shooters ranging in age from 6 to 70s.
Corgi Mom started the weekend's history lessons with the First Strike, Overmountain did a "fireside" chat telling of the Second strike, and Army Vet got the Regulars back to Boston during the Third Strike.
The fire hose of marksmanship instruction was well received. The groups and scores steadily improved all weekend. No ballon was safe from 6-year-old Wilder. Young Ryan shot a 214 from a rest, I am sure if he continues to eat his vegetables he will be shooting a rifleman's score without a rest next year.
Our hats off to first-time Appleseeders who shot Riflemans score: Aaron with a 224 on Saturday, followed by 226 on Sunday, Chris with a 215, Ben B with a 226, Eddie with a 213.
Several shooters requalified: Tellico 226, Ramblin'Wreck 232, Brad B 227, Lucas with a 232
Justin, Nick, Simon and Shannon all came very close to the magic 210 number. Keep up the dry fire practice and we will see you all back on the line next year.
Many thanks to all the instructors that helped make this event a success.
Thank you again for everything you, and all of the other instructors, do. I learned so much, and not just about marksmanship. The history lessons were well delivered and inspirational, and spoke to me in a way that I never experienced while learning history in school. I came to Appleseed expecting to pick up some tips about how to shoot better, and left feeling like I got so much more. You guys really have a fantastic program, and I can't wait to tell my friends and family about it and participate in future events. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the time all of the instructors sacrifice to make these events possible, and I hope you all know how rewarding it is for the participants. I couldn't have had a better time, Appleseed is the real deal and an important reminder of how great this country can be.
Such a great weekend with a great group of enthusiastic shooters with incredible teachable attitudes! A highlight of the weekend was seeing the fun and improvements made by Simon, Lauren, Peyton, Ryan, Cadence (as in Rifleman's!), and Wilder. I'm sure looking forward to seeing y'all return and persist!
Also was blown away by Brooke's final Redcoat of the weekend, as well as Justin's! Keep practicing and you'll have that patch soon!
Liberty!
