The Great State of Alabama has conducted our first Children of the American Revolution Event.
IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY!!
I want extend our deepest gratitude to Don Eiermann, owner of Hobbs Island Shooting Range. Don is a tremendous supporter of Liberty and Project Appleseed! We have held several events there and will schedule many more.
We arrived around 7:30ish and held an instructor meeting. EddieB and AH1Tom headed down to finish setting up the line. The Shooters were all on time and raring to go! Their enthusiasm was infectious.
We had a brief introduction, heard about Samuel Whittemore and the parts of a rifle. Then, we heard the Safety Rules and learned the 6 Steps to a Safe Rifle. EddieB taught us about eye dominance. AH1Tom taught us about the sling and prone position. EddieB gave us the 6 Steps of firing a shot with break in the middle for dry fire practice.
After these blocks of instruction, it was time to shoot squares. The Shooters were on it! After our 5 squares, we needed to break out the "Hits Count". All of the Shooters did very well and saw improvement throughout the day.
David cleared his second Hits Count (21 rounds at a half day event). He placed 5 rounds in each target and 1 in Morgan's Shingle! David is NOT a cook!
Zander, Sierra and Daniel persisted and improved all day!
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to EddieB, AH1Tom and MtnOakBz for coming out!
A HUGE and very special thank you to Mrs. Janet for coordinating this!
I love Appleseed.
If you have pictures, post'em here please.
