Title: Canton GA AAR - Sept. 26 2021
Post by: 76Patriot on October 03, 2021, 05:15:06 PM
It began as a cool day, but warmed up before long.  With only two shooters on the line, we expected lots of one-on-one instruction.  We began with our opening speech, safety related modules, pistol terminology, pistol familiarization, and then shot the Hits Count target.  This showed us that we had some work to do.

After hearing the First Strike, we began learning the fundamentals of pistol shooting.  We learned grip, stance, the Six Steps of Firing the Shot, and Natural Point of Aim.  After lots of dry fire and one-on-one help from the instructors, we discussed talking targets before moving on to malfunction drills and learning how to reload our pistols.  We followed those with the Second Strike during lunch.

After lunch we learned about Target Transitions, Controlled Pairs, Double Taps, Center Line Index, and the Low Ready position before hearing the Third Strike and moving on to One-Handed Shooting.  Due to a desire not to waste ammunition, we did a lot more dry fire and one-on-one coaching before wrapping up the day early.

Thanks again to Tommy and John for coming out.  Keep practicing what we taught you and I know that your skills will improve.

Sounds like some great one on one. Wish I could have been there.
